Insulated Tools
The toughest, longest lasting and safest top quality insulated tools available
Live line working requires the highest quality insulated tools to ensure that the workforce is well protected.
This Roebuck range features handles made from Nylon 11 which are moulded directly on to top
quality tools.
The international IEC60900 specification requires that tools must pass an electrical test of 10,000 volts for 3 minutes whilst submerged
in water.
The insulation must also be able to withstand impact, be flame retardant
and deflect moisture. It must also show good adhesion to the tool...and ALL these standards must be maintained at temperatures between -20°C to + 70°C.
The Roebuck range exceeds the highest of these electrical specifications...
Every tool is tested and passed to IEC60900:2012 as validated by VDE, prior to shipment.
PVC can meet the basic requirements of these tests, but Nylon 11, moulded on to the tool for maximum strength and adhesion (PVC handles are only pushed on to the tools) is by far the best option.
The material manufacturing process more than meets the requirements of IEC60900.
In addition to
IEC60900, these
products also meet
the requirements of Category “C”
In general tools have to be able the withstand impact at a temperature of -20°C, but in certain countries this temperature can be reached on a regular basis, therefore the tests at -20°C do not offer adequate
safety margins.
The Category “C” test requires that insulated tools must be subjected to impact at temperatures down to -40°C.
These Roebuck tools more than achieve this, and are marked accordingly, making these unique in the market.
