Problem
At a Food and Drink customer plant in Belgium, problems were arising with the system put in place to dry the top of the bottles on the soft drinks production line. This was not only causing drying efficiency problems, but energy costs and a reduced bottle production rate too.
Solution
Brammer was called in to optimise drying efficiency at the plant and decided to partner with SMC in order to provide a complete solution. The solution involved a system with nozzles, and support was also provided in the form of an air filter, regulator, a flow meter and valves to select appropriate blowing circuits for different bottle sizes.
Result
Such improvements cost the customer €5,181 and enabled them to make €14,256 in energy savings and a further €37,841 as a result of having fewer reject bottles – amounting to a total saving of almost €47,000.
