Problem
A pharmaceutical manufacturer in Spain has to accurately measure its products in aseptic packaging; if any deviation from the standard weight is shown, the entire batch must be rejected. So when one of the manufacturer’s production lines saw a 20% rise in rejection rates, they were eager to investigate the problem.
Solution
Brammer investigated the issue in depth and found that the main problem was the lack of OEM ball screws. As a result, Brammer recommended that the customer switched to using Schaeffler bearings, drive shafts and screws.
Result
Since these changes were made, more than 100 packs have been supplied and the rejection rate has been reduced by half – leading to an improvement in production efficiency and €19,900 worth of cost savings.
